It's a New Day

This is only the beginning and we will never stop working hard to develop AthleticOffice.

For those of you who don't know me, my name is Blake Smith and I am the owner and co-creator of AthleticOffice. As I am writing this, it has been almost exactly one year since my brother Dexter  and I launched our original product, "The Football Office", with hopes of changing the coaching profession and athletic world forever. After some initial success (and crushing servers), we both quit our jobs to work on our website full time. It seems strange to leave the coaching profession with the intention of bringing the coaching community closer, but I felt it was the only way I could dedicate myself 100% to our mission. Leaving football and my friends at the University of Tulsa will always be one of the hardest decisions in my life, but I will never have regret.

In December of 2012, Dexter and I decided to expand The Football Office into something much bigger. Something we felt could serve the entire athletic community and bring more opportunities to everyone. Our new concept would be called "AthleticOffice", the most powerful athletic network in the world. After doing some research we decided to custom build the entire thing ourselves without the help of developers; or anyone for that matter. That very decision would soon become my greatest nightmare…and the greatest achievement of my life.

5 months straight. 7 days a week. 12-13 hours a day. That's how long Dexter and I worked in a little office together building our dream. During that period I lost friends, lost my mind (slightly), damaged personal relationships, and completely ignored my health. Making things even tougher, our family was also going through some extremely painful and emotional situations at home. At times we nearly killed each other and both of us thought it would never come to an end, and I can say without a doubt it was the hardest period I have ever endured in my entire life. And now, I am proud to say the completion of AthleticOffice is the proudest moment of my entire life.

I want to take a moment to apologize to family and friends if we have not been as available as we should have, or if we have been distant in any way. We are back and we love all of you, and we appreciate those who have stuck by our side. I want to take a moment to personally thank my brother Dexter... the genius. He is THE reason we were able to do this. Words will never describe what he did or how he did it, because it is a miracle. He developed things by himself with no help…no training…things that teams of developers have not been able to do. When speaking the other day, I told him that even if the business completely fails, I wouldn't be upset. I am so proud of what he and I have done that it doesn't even matter… I know now we can accomplish anything. We did this and will continue to do this because we believe in it. We believe in an idea. We believe in a cause. No one will ever be able to take it away from us.

I apologize for the mushiness, but it is a bittersweet moment for us as a final farewell to The Football Office. We have met so many great people and supporters along the way, and we appreciate all of our brothers of the "Revolution".

It's a new day. Time to move on. Believe me when I say that this is only the beginning and we will never stop working hard to develop AthleticOffice. We haven't even scratched the surface. We will continue to offer our service for free and continue to develop new products with one catch; help us spread the word. Change begins with you.

As the saying goes… "on my signal, unleash hell".

Consider this your signal. See you at the Office.
